Youth Programs

Do you want to get training or work experience to get your first, or a better job?

Workforce programs provide vocational exploration, counseling, assessment, training, and paid work experience to eligible participants 14 to 21 years of age. Programs are provided through a number of agencies and schools to meet the unique needs of Niagara's young people.

Please contact the program(s) below for more information. (They will be linked for more information in February 2010.) They are there to help you to get the training and/or experience to begin employment or upgrade your skills!
(Eligibility rules apply for these specific programs.) The WIB funds Youth Programs through the following agencies:

Lockport Opportunities Project

(Lockport City Schools)

 
Niagara Falls Housing Authority
   

Youth Programs serve eligible youth ages 14 to 21, -and- for the Summer Workforce Program 2009, ages 14 to 24.


The Summer 2010 Workforce Program (currently not yet receiving funding) is operated by the Niagara County Employment & Training Department. Information on that program can be accessed here. The application can be accessed here.
